remove a Samsung smartphone's One UI

The open-source architecture of Android is one of the main reasons why it has become so popular. While this offers unparalleled customization freedom, it does not only benefit end-users as well as manufacturers. As a consequence, based on its make and model, the same version of Android can look very different from one smartphone to another.

Samsung also has a custom Interface layer that many users don't like, branded as One UI (formerly named Samsung Experience, or earlier TouchWiz). Nonetheless, the Samsung device will disable One UI, and there are several options to do so.

How to uninstall One UI from your Samsung smartphone

Samsung's custom design has had many names: TouchWiz, Samsung Experience, Grace UI, and more recently, One UI. New Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and S10e have the aforementioned version available.

Disable Samsung apps (for non-rooted devices)

f your device is not rooted (and you are not planning to take that step), something you can do is still there. Disabling Samsung devices will mean that they will not receive updates, nor will they drain the internal memory. Keep in mind, however, is not going to be completely gone.

To begin with, you can remove Samsung apps' shortcuts and widgets, but if you really want to disable the app, you can do that only from Settings-> Applications-> Application Manager. You just need to search and pick the device you want to uninstall.
You can also turn off the associated functionality to remove the alerts.

It will stay in a hibernation mode while an inventory device is disabled. It will not receive updates and will only occupy the same space as when it was installed for the first time.

Install a new launcher

You can not remove the Samsung UI if your Samsung smartphone is not rooted, but you can replace it with a different launcher. Fortunately, there are plenty of Android launchers to choose from!

Nova, Apex, and Microsoft Launcher are among the most popular. Even so, we prefer Pixel Launcher (formerly Google Now Launcher) if you enjoy the Material Design look and want a flat interface.

You will be asked to pick what app you would like to use the first time you open the latest launcher. To make it the main launcher, pick the latest one and press on "now."

From Settings-> Default Apps-> Home Screen, you can easily go back to One UI (TouchWiz, or any other Samsung UI). Pick my launcher there and click the button at back.

Disable One UI / TouchWiz (root needed)

The only way to get rid of your smartphone's Samsung UI completely is to root it. This means you'll need to use a new ROM to flash your device. Keep this in mind, as it sets the Knox counter to null, the pledge will be invalid.

Don't miss: Making flashable ZIPs and downloading several Android apps, Odin is one of the best apps you can use to flash a smartphone. For complete instructions on how to use it, head over to their official website. There's also a handheld Odin edition that doesn't need to use a Mac. In this article for XDA Developers, you will consider it along with application guidance.
You'll also need a custom recovery and boot from it a new ROM. It is also worth mentioning that, by default, some ROMs are pre-rooted, while it is optional for others.

TWRP is Samsung's most common custom recovery. To download it, you'll need to learn the exact phone model. See all TWRP-supported phones on the official page and install the correct version for your mobile. Installing the recovery with Odin is also feasible, in which case a.tar file. Once the custom recovery is complete, without any Samsung UIs, you can review current ROMs. There are plenty of Android stock-based ROMs (AOSP) that can be tried and found in the XDA Community. Nonetheless, we advise that you pick a ROM that still gets notifications and has positive feedback from the client that you can review in the comments on the thread. If you can't decide on a ROM, we suggest Lineage OS to begin with as an excellent choice.
